This year, for the first time, the Radost Theatre will become part of the Open House Brno architecture festival, which will take place on the weekend of 18-19 May. The aim of the festival is to open the architecturally interesting buildings of Brno to the public, thus showing visitors the metropolis as they do not know it yet.
The Radost Theatre building is of course one of Brno's architectural gems. Since its foundation in 1947, the theatre has undergone several extensive reconstructions, the last of which began in 1999. The aim was to create a modern theatre space with several options for various productions. Thanks to the architect Oldřich Prokeš, this goal has been fulfilled and today the Radost Theatre has four stages: the Large Stage, the Small Stage, the Outdoor amphitheatre and the Ship (formerly the Museum of Puppets).
In addition to us, 115 other buildings are participating in the festival this year! More information about the whole festival can be found on the Open House Brno website.
You can visit our theatre on Saturday 18 May from 10 AM to 1 PM. Several information panels will be placed on the premises, otherwise the tours will be self-service. You can choose the route, direction and time of the tour according to your own preferences. 🙂 Reservations are not necessary.
We look forward to your visit!
