Vlasta Baránková has passed away

On Tuesday, Vlasta Baránková left this world – an exceptional Brno illustrator, painter, and kind soul who was closely associated with the Radost Theater for many years. Her world, full of gentle humor, poetry, and childlike wonder, accompanied us not only in books but also in our theater, where she exhibited her beautiful illustrations for children.

We had a close, warm relationship with Vlastička. She was an inspiration and a joy to us. Our performance Operky, which takes place in her studio and in her paintings, was created partly for her and about her. Her work and her presence were always filled with kind humor, playfulness, and wisdom—and that is exactly how we will remember her when she looks down on us from her fairy-tale heaven.
