Theatre World Brno is one of the largest theatre festivals in the Czech Republic and is a unique combination of the cooperation of the National Theatre Brno, Husa na provázku Theatre, Municipal Theatre Brno, Radost Theatre, Polárka Theatre and JAMU art scenes. It brings to Brno a delicate selection of foreign productions and the best of Czech theatre for the year. The Theatre World Brno festival is several days packed with great drama, chamber projects, dance productions, site-specific performances, accompanying programme and events for professionals. Each year the festival is filled with performances that fall into recurring dramaturgical lines, as well as productions reflecting current social issues and documentary works dedicated to some of the theatre personalities who have become a phenomenon in their field. In 2024, the Theatre World Brno festival will take place from 17 to 28 May 2024.
At the Radost Theatre we are presenting two of our productions - And Then It Happened! and The Pied Piper. Is there a philosopher's stone? Could it be hope for the future of the world? And what exactly is it? Geisslers Hofcomoedianten's interactive production The Alchemists - The Golden Age Theatre Lab for older and younger audiences is a kind of theatrical alchemist's laboratory, giving you a glimpse into the five alchemist's laboratories at the court of Emperor Rudolf II. In the face of the Baroque, however, something bigger is at play here - a contemporary world that needs discoveries and wonders in the exact same way.
