A Bouquet, Willow, The Water Sprite, The Golden Spinning-Wheel, The Wedding Shirt...
A bouquet made up of five of Erben's ballads, perhaps the most popular Czech poetry collection of the 19th century, premiered at Radost in 2012. It has been performed for seven years and has had more than fifty performances, the Audience Award from the 2013 Dítě v Dlouhé festival, positive reactions from critics and audiences, and positive feedback from teachers who appreciated the evocative atmosphere of the production, the acting and musical performances, during which some pupils "did not even breathe".
"Philosophy, religion, poetry meet the four basic elements and everything that transcends us. Pagan Slavic antiquity intertwines with contemporary interpersonal relationships and feelings. This is the tension that creates a huge drama," said director Petr Nosálek about A Bouquet. That is also why A Bouquet received a renewed premiere under the baton of his son Ondřej Nosálek. Stories that seem long outdated to many in today's accelerated and completely different times can captivate - far better than reading - through the diverse means of expression and the magic of theatre.
