"Even in the worst person under the sun, there is at least a grain of goodness — no one is entirely bad."
On Friday, October 3, 2025, the Radost Theatre will not only host the premiere of a new fairy tale production, but also a unique artistic event. At 5:00 PM, an exhibition of illustrations by Pavel Čech will open in the theatre’s foyer, with the artist himself in attendance.
The exhibition will showcase original illustrations from the upcoming stage production “About the Little Devil”, which will have its festive premiere at 6:00 PM on the same day at the Radost Theatre. Visitors can also look forward to seeing other works by the artist, offering a broader insight into his distinctive artistic world. This is a rare opportunity to step into the visual world of a beloved fairy tale and meet the illustrator in person.
Pavel Čech was born in 1968 in Brno. After training as a locksmith, he spent several years working in the Královopolská engineering plant and later served as a firefighter. Since 2004, he has been working as a freelance artist. He is married and has two sons, Jiří and František.
His work is inspired not only by the world of children, but also by the poetry of everyday life. He loves overgrown gardens, starry skies, butterflies and beetles, peeling walls, old cinemas, the scent of pine forests, kind-hearted people, and everything that carries a hint of mystery. These elements are reflected in his illustrations and books, which have captured the hearts of readers across generations.
Step into the magical world of fairy tales before the curtain rises. We look forward to seeing you in the foyer of the Radost Theatre on October 3 at 5:00 PM!
