Looking Back at the Opening of Jaroslav Milfajt’s Exhibition

On Thursday, 15 January 2026, we ceremonially opened the first exhibition of this year at Divadlo Radost. The exhibition by Jaroslav Milfajt was launched with an opening reception held in the theatre foyer. Visitors had the opportunity to step into the world of a distinctive Czech scenographer and visual artist whose name is inseparably connected with puppet theatre.

The exhibition presents puppet designs created during his long-standing and extensive collaboration with Divadlo Radost as well as with other theatre companies. Jaroslav Milfajt’s work is characterised by simplicity, functionality, and strong visual imagination. Thanks to these qualities, the puppets in his work become fully-fledged bearers of dramatic meaning and an essential part of stage storytelling.
