Looking Back at Pavel Čech’s Vernissage

Divadlo Radost opened its new exhibition season with a unique vernissage of illustrations by Pavel Čech, the author of The Tale of the Little Devil, which also inspired our new theatre production of the same name.

On Friday, October 3, 2025, Divadlo Radost ceremonially opened the first exhibition of the season. This time, the spotlight belongs to the enchanting world of illustrations by Pavel Čech, whose book The Tale of the Little Devil served as the inspiration for our new stage production.

The opening night was attended by Pavel Čech himself, who shared warm memories about the creation of the book and its mischievous little hero. With his characteristic humor and kindness, he signed books, chatted with visitors, and offered a glimpse into the secrets of his artistic process.

The exhibition features a selection of original illustrations from The Tale of the Little Devil as well as other works by this beloved artist, whose poetic world is filled with imagination, nostalgia, and small everyday miracles.
