Interpretive Dictionary: Vernissage and performance

What words can be used to capture and describe a child's world? What is important to a little person when they are, say, four? What of what surrounds him or her is inscribed in his or her mind as a key memory? And what would be its colour and mood? This is the subject of Olga Stehlíková's Interpretive Dictionary. It is not, however, a classical lexicon, but rather a lyrical literature of fact, always made up of just a few words, a fragment of a sentence opening up in its simplicity a whole complex world of memories of feelings and associations...

The opening ceremony of the exhibition of illustrations by visual artist Michaela Casková will take place on Wednesday 27 March at 5 PM. For each opening we also prepare a staged reading, this time somewhat unconventionally in the form of a physical performance in the foyer of the Radost Theatre. Our staged reading will therefore be more of a movement and poetic exercise that will bring the individual dictionary entries to life, give them additional dimensions, tell the stories behind them. And it also wants to invite both young and older audiences to dream and "interpret the words".

Evening: teeth, pyjamas, dad yawning a story...

Director: Jan Lepšík, dramaturgy: Vendula Borůvková, cast: Eliška Borisová, Vilém Čapek, Jiří Skovajsa

We cordially invite the young and the old, lovers of literature and theatre.

Entrance is free.
